Samsung has released their Keyboard Dock for the Galaxy Tab 10.1. I gotta say that I initially had no interest in this Dock. It just made no sense to me that I would want something that would place my hands so close to a screen. However after playing with it for a while my thoughts changed. I like the convenience of the quick keys that will open and access functionality of my Tab. There is an accessory / power port on the side and an audio out port that are good for connecting to speakers. However I do have three issues with it. First off, there isn’t a button or key to unlock the tablet. I still have to put my finger on the screen and swipe. Second, the keyboard is slightly smaller than a standard keyboard. This may work for many but I found I was making a lot of mistakes when typing on it. Last, I wish it would have included an accessory/power cable to charge my tablet. If I decide to take this dock to the office I don’t want to have to carry around the one cable I got with my Tab or pay $20 for a new one. While I get excellent battery life from my Tab, I always like to keep it as charged as possible.
