Review : Book Cover Case for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Samsung has released their Book Cover Case for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. I am one who is as fanatical about their case as I am for the device that I am getting it for. If the case doesn’t feel right, I rather go naked…..on the device that is. (Case in point, my Droid X is completely bare of any protection, except for the screen protector I have on it.) The Tab 10.1 is a gorgeous device and I am not about to throw just any case on it. As with anything, it has to function as well or better than the device it protects.
I should point out that I have had the case a couple of weeks and over all it is great. It has two different textures on it. A nice soft leather or suede feel to the front and hard rigid grippable feel to the back. It has openings for the camera and headphone jack. When opened it can sit tall and provide different viewing angles and can sit “flat” in a supported sense to allow for typing on it. However its greatest achievement is managing to keep the slim profile of the Tab 10.1. It not only feels light in your hand but very rigid and well protected while staying slim and sexy.
I really only have one major gripe with this accessory and that is that there is no provision for the power or accessory port. You literally have to open the flap to expose the port so that you can charge the device. Given the alternative of some of the “smarter” covers for tablets out there, I would rather have this issue and keep the back of the device protected.
