RIM, BlackBerry-for-Everyone & BlackBerry 10

Listening in to RIM’s media call this morning, we saw the formal introduction of Thorsten Heins, as new CEO of Research in Motion. Mr. Heins got right into the future of RIM first explaining where the market will be for the United States, explaining is BlackBerry-for-Everyone. As he explained, there are still a huge percent of people in the U.S. still running with feature phones. And BlackBerry-for-Everyone is to develop devices and market them towards those users to have them jump over the to the smartphone, so not have the most advanced smartphone. Maybe there on to something here.

Finally some talks about BlackBerry 10, Heins explained this not just as a new software, but as a whole new infrastructure. This will the be the best Operating System to land on RIM devices.

(Also, confirmed PlayBook 2.0 OS  will be released February.)
