2011 Audi A8 Review
The brand new 2011 Audi A8 actually released in November of 2010. It just looked like another 80k car for some business pro to spend their huge bonus on. Engineer’s at Audi think its a new beginning of the Luxury/Sport saloon car.
The Audi A8 is the top of the line in four-door sedans in the world. Audi is always getting under BMW and Mercedes-Benz noses. But for some reason Audi went for the more sensible kind of car and not a monster. Some people say its good, and some people say its bad. But, one thing, this car has a 4.2L V8. Those aren’t as fuel efficient as a Toyota Prius. But who wants to be seen in a Toyota Prius? Unless your a Hollywood star that would want to be noticed in a eco-friendly Prius that just looks horrible so they take a photo of you on crack instead of the crap car your driving.
Back to the point, Audi has chosen the less powerful engine than the competing 7 Series or Mercedes E Class or S Class. All of those cars are huge V8′s that just beg for you to put your foot down on the pedal. The Audi is still a V8 with a 372 Horse-Power engine that will tingle your entire body when you press the sport button on the dash.
What Audi has achieved is, you can put better fuel economy, and use aluminum and carbon fiber to build the car, and you still get the performance your looking for in a 4-door saloon car. The A8 can go from 0-60 in 5.7 seconds, and 0-100 in 8 seconds. That’s quick! Faster than some 7-series! All of that in a 17 MPG in the city, and 27 MPG on the highway. Bravo to the German engineer’s that built this car.
This car is loaded with all the electrons you can ask for. It comes standard with Bose speakers, and also with the MMI Touch and Navigation which is an award winning system. But for other optionals it can get pricey.
But here comes the big question, do you spend your huge bonus on the A8? Or do you go for a 7-Series or even a BMW M3, or Mercedes Benz C AMG model?
That’s the question where I have to go with the M3. The M3 is a monster inside a 4-door saloon car. You can get yourself some thrills, and give your kids a thrill in the backseat with your wife yelling at you to slow down.
The A8, stylish, German Engineering, better fuel economy, amazing build quality, and very powerful.
The M3, PURE MADNESS.
I go with the loud mouth M3.
