The HTC Touch Pro 2 for T-Mobile is a great windows mobile device, but with a big price tag.
Pricing
The phone starts off at 349.99 on 2 year contract, which is a big number for one phone, but with T-Mobile’s cheap monthly plans they really make other carriers look like they are robbing you at gun point.
Keyboard and Texting
The Touch Pro 2 has a huge keyboard that really is a dream to type on, it’s the type of keyboard that you would like to type out long emails, or when you need to fire a employee, the keyboard makes you feel a little better because the size of the buttons, and also the offset. Offset keyboard means that it is the same keyboard that your computer has.
Touch Flo 3D
The phone runs HTC’s Touch Flo 3D, which is a skin that runs over the windows mobile 6.1 pro, which kinda makes it run a little bit better, but come on people it is still a windows mobile phone and you still have the windows world famous lag that everyone has experienced if they have used a windows mobile phone before.
Internet Browsing
The Touch Pro 2 has the main browser to be Internet Explorer, but it has a copy of Opera Mobile which runs, smoother, faster, less laggy, and also it is easier to use. For example in Internet Explorer you have to open the keyboard to have landscape, but in Opera you can just tilt the phone and it tilts automatically.
Email
Every business phone has to have a good email client. iPhone, Blackberry, and now HTC! HTC has a great email client that supports Gmail which puts a big smile on my face. Their are a lot of phones out their that just have Aol, and Yahoo as email clients, where most people have other clients.
Summary
Make sure that you look at the videos to get all the detail of the phone, but overall this phone has a lot of great features, even though it is a Windows Mobile device, it is a bit on the pricey side, but again T-Mobile monthly plans are cheaper, compared to At&t or Verizon. So in the long run, spend more money on the device, and month by month you will repay yourself.
